IMPAX™ PC - High Impact Polycarbonate

Product Description

Offering a perfect combination of high optical clarity, superior impact strength, cost effectiveness, and energy efficiency, Zenolex polycarbonate is the answer to even the most demanding of applications. Available in both General Purpose (non capped) as well as UV protected (both sides), Zenolex has the product to meet your needs.

UV protection is achieved through the application of a co-extruded layer of which thickness distribution is strictly controlled. Zenolex polycarbonate can withstand the harshest of external environments. Our state of the art clean rooms and extrusion equipment combined with our highly trained manufacturing team guarantees consistent high quality. Zenolex offers around 250 times the impact strength of glass and is used where extreme conditions call for a highly impact resistant product.

Fabrication & Handling

  • Polycarbonate Sheet can be thermoformed using standard fabrication processing equipment. Vacuum forming, free blown forming, and line bending are the most extensively used processes. Polycarbonate sheet is easily drilled using ordinary high-speed steel drill bits, air or water can be introduced as a coolant if required (the use of cutting oils may cause crazing).

  • Be extremely careful if using taps or self-tapping screws as polycarbonate is a notch sensitive material. Rinse sheet with lukewarmater water only, do not add detergents or soap to the water.

  • Using a soft, gentle cloth or sponge, lightly wash to loosen any dirt and residue but do not scrub aggressively or use brushes or harsh instruments. Dry with a soft clean cloth to prevent water spotting. Do not clean in direct sunlight if possible.

Available Sizes

  • Thickness: 1.5 - 15.0 mm
